Ok guys, I've had a think about this, and taken on board some input from other members of the site, and now I'm proud to launch our second Forza Motorsport 3 Tournament.

As before, we'll be doing six time trials spread over six weeks, with the first event starting when we have a full-ish lineup. I'm hoping to start on the weekend of Saturday 30th January. That gives you just over a week to pick a car and set it up. For this event, we'll be using Class C cars, set up however you want them, but must not exceed Class C stats. Each event's cut off is the following Friday at Midnight, so you must have a time posted in your chosen car to earn points for that week.

The circuits we will be doing are as follows:

1) Carmen Viejo De Monserrat - Full CircuitPosted Image

2) Sunset Peninsula Raceway - Full CircuitPosted Image

3) Nurburgring Nordschleife - Stage CPosted Image

4) Amalfi Coast - Full CircuitPosted Image

5) Road Atlanta - Full CircuitPosted Image

6) Silverstone Racing Circuit - International CircuitPosted Image

I've chosen a mix of fast tracks, and twisty challenging tracks. Non should take more than three of four minutes tops.

Please choose one car, upgrade it if you need to (but keep it Class C), and post it here (a pic would be great!) Feel free to change the setup for every race, but you must keep the same car throughout.

Laptimes will be taken from the leaderboards. To post here you need to go to Quick Events > Hot Lap on the main menu instead of going into the career. This will then take into account PI differences, use of the rewind button, corners cut or any other penalties that may occur. This will be a points based competition, so that everyone can carry on for as long as they wish to. Obviously the longer you're joining in the more chance you have of winning.

If you wish to join in, but do not have an Xbox 360 Live account, I'll accept a screen capture photo pm'ed to me.

The winner will recieve this gift car from me, a Ferrari 599GTB, dubbed 'The Space Invader'. And I might even sort out a prize car for the first runner up.

Points will be worked out as follows:

1st = 10
2nd = 8
3rd = 7
4th = 6
5th = 5
6th = 4
7th = 3
8th = 2
9th = 1

Please add you name below if you want to join in. I'm hoping for at least six contenders. As soon as you have chosen your car, let everyone else know what it is in this thread.

I'll try and participate in this. I have no idea what car to use, though.

Also, is there any chance it can be changed so that the times don't have to be submitted until the weekend, like the last event?

Ok guys, here's an update to the scoring system. Your lap times have to be posted before 9pm on Sundays. However, if we start this on Saturday 30th Jan, it'll give you an extra day or so to get your time for the first round in, as the next round will commence after 9pm the following Sunday.

So far we have seven contestants, including myself. Anybody else want to join in??

I know this is an odd way of doing it, but there is a more accurate way of doing the scoring. The scores work in reverse. So if I get a time of 2 00 and I am the slowest in the group, I take 100 points. The people who are faster than score points based on the % of the slowest time. so if someone scores 1 30 they score 75 points. Maybe run this scoring system next to the current point ones and see how it turns out for future things.

I might put a few laps in on this. I'm terrible, but it's just for the lolz. And Spatula's ego.

Let me get this straight Sly. You're saying that we all get a percentage of the slowest person's time, with the slowest person getting 100. And at the end the person with the least points wins. Is that right??

Yes. So the equation for that would be

100/ slowest time in seconds = %

% * time in seconds for individual time = persons score

The person with the lowest score over all wins. This is a little better than the other points system as people that get .01 between them get a more accurate representation of their score. It can be worked the other way round for games where you want to get the high score too with a little amending. Run it alongside the normal scoring and see what you think.

That sounds like a pretty interesting scoring method actually Sly. I like it.

I'm in! Had a go at tuning some cars last night. I'm either going with an Impreza, or an Astra VXR. I'll decide later.
We posting pictures as well?

Surprised Riva hasn't put his name down for this yet.
I would like to be the first one to congratulate spatular on winning the car. :)
I heard a monkey bit a woman's face off and pulled off her hands - it's true, it was in the news!

Me too. I just had a quick gander at his profile and it looks like he has been signing in invisible as there is no last visited date.

We now have nine contestants for this competition, so I think it's a go. I'm not going to close entry at all, so feel free to join in anytime. It's all for shits and giggles anyway. However, to maximise your possible points, it's best to join before Saturday 30th when it all kicks off, or at least before the following Sunday when I take the scores for that week. Just add you name below.
