ill Shepard is back!

Thanks to the import a character option your royal ugly dude lives on. I love this game so far and ive only played an hour and im a Mass Effect fanboy so maybe im biast. It feels like it eases you into the gameplay better than the first game, acting as a reassuringly warm hand if its been a while since you played the first.

And if youve played the first game then this is more of the same with nicer looking graphics and a girl with a large pair of pert boobs from the off.

Just got on the Normandy properly for the first time and off on my first mission of my own free will. (Ive just loaded up the galaxy map for the first time and the music is the same). Its back baby!

I've been thinking about who I will "bunk" with this time round.

I hate seing people on your friends list play this now. I won't be able to get it until tomorrow evening. :( I'm gonna play it all weekend, people can fuck off for a few days.

Ok, i didn't play the first one, and no idea what the new one is about? what sort of game is it? and ps3 or xbox? im assuming its on both, and the bigger question is it worthy of my limited funds this month.

360 only Daddy Partime. Think about it as Star Wars but with guns and lots of futuristic pew pew pewing.

this has started off great, much improved combat, smooth framerate, only 2 hours in mind, basically a big intro/tutorial so far (edit - exactly where illdog was in the first post).

i can't remember much from the first game, can anyone tell me what the deal with

is?

I cant remember either Spatular, lets just ignore it together.

Without spoiling anything, this game just starts off at a better pace, the immediate objective being to assemble a team of former friends and newbies. Ive got a team of 4 now but im getting distracted by chatting up Kelly on the Normandy and a couple of interesting side missions.

The vehicular exploration of planets looking for minerals hasnt appeared yet, instead you can scan planets from the Normandy and launch probes and hotspots indicated by the pads rumbke feature and these do the work for you.

Also loving the hacking mini games, either matching coloured text to hack firewalls or a little 'remember the symbol' match up game to bypasss security.

Combat still isnt great though.

I was planning to import my save but it turns out that for some reason the game was never saved right after I completed it, so I couldn't do it. Can't find the original game either to finish it.

So I started as a new character (a woman). I so can't wait for the lesbian sex with Kelly I'm so going to get.

Im working on Kelly the most actually, some of the chat up dialogue is brilliantly cheesy.

Lots of characters from ME1 keep popping their heads up which ive enjoyed, all of which id forgotten untill i saw them again. The quests are coming in thick and fast at the moment which i like, ive got three to do on one planet at the moment.

Still not crazy about the combat, they need a decent lock-on system, it all feel a bit loose when things get frantic and it can be hard to see who's shooting you on occasion.

Its a flaw like Assassins Creed in respect of it being blatent but the rest of the game is so good its not ruined by it.

I'm loving it, but that's no surprise, the previous one was one of my favourite games in ages.

Raptr says I've played 15 hours since starting on Saturday morning. That's much more than I thought, it felt like 7 or 8 to me.

I just got done on the Citadel. It's good to see that the council are still a bunch of pricks, and I punched the futuristic equivalent of a Daily Mail journalist in the face. ( regretted not doing that in the 1st game) :D

my only gripe with this so far is that i couldnt revisit 95% of the areas in the citadel from mass effect 1, i really wanted to go back and hang out in the presidium with the cool music. everything else is 24 carat gold

They're all dead on in my game but I wish I saved them now, the humans take over the council and they make a bit of an arse of it, should of seen that coming really.

I think I need to stop and go back to the Citadel or Omega because I'm 15 hours in and I'm on the second disc, haven't done many side quests either so i think I'm missing some things.

Spoiler

I do miss the Mako planet exploring, it was over-used in the last game but I'd like to of done it again occasionally, I found it on the crash site and it looked intact.
