I'm surprised by how little different this actually is to the normal games. I've only done the first case so far and a little bit of the second, but the basic structure doesn't seem all that different. A murder happens, you investigate the clues, and then cross examine people.

The main difference is I guess that instead of just being given a view of the environments, you actually walk around them now, which can make finding clues and evidence easier. The first case is a good introduction to all of this, and I'm surprised about how long and seemingly important to the rest of the plot that it's going to be.

I think there are five cases in this, so it should be fairly long. I think it takes place between AA2 and AA3, and I get the impression it's full of fan service. No problems there, of course!

No one else playing this game then? I remember when all we talked about was the DS, what happened? :(

Anyways, I'm really enjoying it. I'm on case 3 now (Which is fan service central that one, and pretty hilarious too), and although it does lose a little something from not having any courtroom stuff in it, the actual investigation parts are paced a whole lot better. Remember how in the older ones you would have a ton of different rooms to go to and sometimes it would involve finding some needle in a haystack like evidence, or presenting something random to somebody? Well, they seem to have fixed this. You're sort of limited to a single room in this one for each little investigation you do, and in these 'rooms' there are usually a few people to talk to, and evidence to find.

The fact that you can actually walk around makes finding little bits of evidence a little bit easier, and once you've found all of the evidence in a given area you usually have to combine pieces of 'logic' in order to discover in slightly more detail how the murder went down. After that it's usually just some cross examining in the way we all know and love.

So yeah, if the next game in the series combined the new investigations with the already awesome courtroom stuff, it could be the best Ace Attorney game ever. (Assuming it has a good plot, of course).

I'm about a chapter into case 3 as well.

I'm always amused how the police just turn up and decide whoever was closest to the crime scene when the arrive is the chief suspect. Then even if give evidence why they're not the criminal, it's up to you to find who the real culprit is, or they'll go to prison anyway. I'm glad I don't live in Phoenix Wright's world.

And how prosecutors are actually allowed around the crime scene. and how if the attorney is bad at his job (read: loses health bar) the defendant is automatically guilty, and also if the case is longer than 3 days.

I love Ace Attorney! :D

The pun-tastic character names are getting more and more groan worthy. A murder victim called Deid Mann?

I must admit, that made me chuckle. :)
I heard a monkey bit a woman's face off and pulled off her hands - it's true, it was in the news!

I had one of those moments yesterday where you're stuck and can't go any further because you haven't found everything in the location.

It was frustrating, but fortunately only lasted 10 minutes before I was back on track. It's the only time it's happened to me in 3 and a half cases though, so no biggie.
